The play,
supposedly based on fact, deals with the radicalization of Sayid Qutb, a member
of the Muslim Brotherhood, as a result of the bigotry he receives as a
post-graduate at a preppy American university. The play leaps between his time
in the US in the late 1940s and the present day office of a university
professor in London.
