I went to all six concerts in the “A Scream and an Outrage” weekend at the Barbican. The
programming was a bit hard to follow with concerts including both cutting edge
modern contemporary music and much more ordinary material. The best for me was
by the more established composers, particularly Glass’s 20 Piano Etudes, and
work by Reich, Nyman and Part. The Sunday morning choral music with The Sixteen
was also memorable.
