28 August 2017. The Majority at the National Theatre.

This was more an event than theatre. Essentially, Rob Drummond - The Writer and Presenter - takes us through a story about his meeting a man named Eric who claims his remote Scottish town is infested with neo-Nazis. Drummond goes to investigate and in recounting the tale asks the audience along the way to make choices on a handset - most memorably a series of decisions on the runaway train. The choice is diverting the train to safe a certain number of people, while sacrificing one person. Would you do that?
Drummond seemed to be manipulating us to agree that it was never right to insult someone because one disagreed with their opinion. An extremely relevant question in the light of Brexit and Trump but somehow I did not feel in the least bit convinced that he had guided us through a line of thought. Frankly, I was rather disappointed and quite happy when the ninety minutes were up.
